Kailua-Kona is the main town on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii, and it is a fantastic place to spend your vacation. Getting to Kona from the mainland is quite easy. Many airlines fly directly into Kona International Airport, and the ones that don't fly into Honolulu, where you can pick up an hourly flight to Kona.
